11/15 and 11/22 Meeting

During 11/15, the CAD model of the second potential Prototype 2 of the cabin was finished. Here, it considered the speadboat-like design of its drawn concepts. The final 3D model also considered a more bullet-esque design compared to the first concept of prototype 2. The final Prototype 2 will be chosen from the two concepts based on an aerodynamic analysis and realistic factors as in fitting components, if it is comfortable when translated to full scale, etc. For the Week of 11/22, the team will take the week off due to Thanksgiving break.

11/8 Meeting

This meeting was a productive one as the 3D CAD modeling of 1 of 2 potential designs of Prototype 2 have been finished by Kaelan. The following displays the finished CAD model:
The first design mainly went for a slender and aerdynamic asymmetrical design. As he did this I started drafting the second potential design that incorporated a more compact and angular design. CAD modeling for this design is expected to start next week. Based on the progress so far, we are actually 1 week behind. At the end of this week we hope to choose a design and begin printing. The following Icon A5 and Airbus Podcar served as inspiration for the design:

11/1 Meeting

During the this meeting, it was fairly short again as the control's team did not have all their parts in as well. The controls team did not have most of their parts, but they did have their battery, which is their largest component and we began dimensioning Prototype 2 based on that.


Also, sketching and CAD of 1/2 of the possible Prototype 2's have been drawn. Concepts and paper 2-D drawings have been done by me and 3D CAD modeling by Kaelan. The following contains the concept drawings:










This model was largely influenced by ZBee and podcars found in Singapore (original influence at the beginning of this project).
